Police Response and Pre-Trial Investigation

A pre-trial investigation has been launched under articles covering attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and illegal handling of weapons. Viktor Nechytailo, Head of Police in Chernivtsi Oblast, stated:

“An attack on the lives of police officers is an especially serious crime. The response will be harsh and principled. No one will evade responsibility.”

The special operation in Bukovyna demonstrated the high level of readiness among law enforcement to respond to threats encountered while on duty. Such incidents underscore the critical importance of ensuring safety for both officers and the public. The investigation continues, with further details expected soon.

This attack reflects the severe challenges confronting Ukrainian police, particularly given elevated risks to their lives.
