Winter thousand for utilities: how to spend state assistance money until 2026.
According to ТСН: Ukrainians have the opportunity to use the "winter thousand" for paying utility services such as gas, water, electricity, and heating.
Payments can be made through online banking applications or on web services. This assistance can be used until June 30, 2026.
Payment via online banking
To pay for utility services with the "National Cashback" card, you can use online banking – either through a web browser or through your bank's mobile app.
Actions Algorithm:
Log in to your bank's app or enter your account in the browser;
Go to the "Payments" section, then "Utility Services";
Enter the recipient's details (EDRPOU, IBAN, account number);
Select the "National Cashback" card from the list for payment;
Specify necessary meter readings, such as gas, electricity, water (if needed);
Save the payment and click "Pay".
If you have already used this payment method, just go to "templates", select the needed payment, and choose the "National Cashback" card during payment.
Payment on service provider websites
Utility services can also be paid on the providers' websites mentioned in the bill.
For example, to pay for gas, you need to register on the "Naftogaz" portal, for electricity – on the distribution companies' websites, and also on the websites of water utilities or other utility service portals like the Municipal Service Center.
On these sites, you can make a payment in the "Personal Account" after registration or authorization, where you will be able to see the account status. Next, you need to choose the payment method – select the bank where you issued the "Winter Support" card and use it for payment.
You can also pay for electricity on the Yasno resource by simply scanning the QR code on the bill.
Payment at the post office
Utility services can be paid at post offices using the "National Cashback" virtual card or a special account if assistance was arranged through "Ukrpost".
At any post office, you can ask the operator to pay for utilities with money from the "winter support" by simply presenting your passport and tax ID (or birth certificate for children). Payment is possible for gas, electricity, water, and other services.
The operator may deduct funds from your special account or from the "National Cashback" card.
As reported, the payment of the "winter support" assistance continues in Ukraine. The program started on November 15 and provides a one-time payment of 1000 UAH to all Ukrainians officially residing in the country. Applications can be submitted until December 24. From November 21 to December 17, assistance of 6500 UAH was processed for those in difficult life circumstances.
This assistance mechanism is designed to support Ukrainians during a difficult winter period and alleviate the financial burden on households. It is important to timely use the provided opportunities to avoid being without necessary utility services in the cold season.
