Missile Shortages Across the Gulf Region

According to TSN.ua: Countries in the Persian Gulf have suffered major reductions in their inventories of Patriot interceptor missiles after repeated Iranian strikes. According to available data, these nations have fired at least 2,400 PAC-3 and GEM-T interceptors out of roughly 2,800 they possessed before the conflict began. This depletion leaves them urgently seeking alternative ways to defend against threats from Iran.

Regional Security Challenges Intensify

Since the start of the war, Iran has launched nearly 1,200 ballistic missiles and around 4,000 Shahed kamikaze drones. This heavy reliance on offensive weaponry directly endangers the safety of neighboring states. In response, the production of PAC-3 missiles remains a critical priority—Lockheed Martin currently manufactures approximately 650 of these interceptors each year.

Experts warn that without active U.S. involvement, most Gulf nations would find themselves in an extremely vulnerable position.

As Kelly Grieco noted, 'without active U.S. support, most countries would have nothing left to defend themselves against Iranian missiles.'
This highlights the essential role of international cooperation in maintaining security across the Persian Gulf.

The situation reveals mounting tensions between Iran and the Gulf states, raising the risk of further escalation. The loss of a substantial number of interceptors and the pressing need for new defense systems show that, without backing from global partners—especially the United States—these countries may struggle to counter growing threats. This underscores the value of strategic alliances and a robust defense posture to ensure stability and safety in this vital region.
