Lavrov: Moscow is ready for negotiations with Ukraine
Sergey Lavrov, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Tuesday, August 19, that Moscow is open to negotiations with Ukraine but insists on a phased process. This was reported by the publication FREEДOM, citing Politico.
Lavrov suggests initially elevating the level of the delegation and conducting negotiations over the possibility of starting negotiations over several months.
The White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt confirmed that Putin agreed to meet with Zelensky, adding that the White House is working with Russia and Ukraine to hold a bilateral meeting. However, there is still no official confirmation of readiness for negotiations from Putin himself.
