Bohuslav's Ice Arena: Funding Sources and Community Transfer Explained.
Completion of the 'Liodohrai' Ice Arena
According to TSN.ua: The construction of the 'Liodohrai' ice arena in Bohuslav, made possible by decisions finalized in late 2012, has been completed. The project was funded by state lottery proceeds and opened on November 6, 2014. For over a decade, the arena's maintenance was financed by the company 'M.S.L.'. In late 2025, ownership of the ice arena was transferred to the Bohuslav community. This transfer marks a significant shift in the management of a key local sports facility.
The Significance of Sports Infrastructure
At the arena's opening, company representatives stressed that sports infrastructure is a long-term responsibility. Alona Burmistrova emphasized the importance of sustained commitments in this area. She noted that while the company had fulfilled all its obligations, supporting children and their sports development does not end at this stage.
Another company representative, Yulia Maleha, highlighted that for youth sports, it is critically important to know the arena will operate for more than just a single season. This provides stability and development opportunities for young athletes in the region.
Vitalii Khomenko, a community representative, pointed out the strategic importance of this event for Bohuslav. The transfer of the arena to the community opens new prospects for developing sports and active recreation for local residents. Thus, the 'Liodohrai' ice arena is set to become a vital part of the city's sports infrastructure for many years to come.
The completion of the 'Liodohrai' ice arena in Bohuslav underscores the commitment of local authorities and the private sector to developing sports infrastructure. Handing the arena over to the community not only ensures access to modern sports facilities for locals but also creates opportunities for nurturing young athletic talent. This event is important for promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting activity among the region's population, serving as a model for similar public-private partnerships.
