Massive Drone Wave Hits Ukraine: Explosions Rock Ternopil, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Impact on Ternopil and Other Cities
According to TSN.ua: On March 24, an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck Ternopil during an air raid alert, with explosions reported and air defense systems actively engaging. Ternopil Regional Military Administration head Taras Pastukh confirmed the blasts, which occurred around 4:53 PM local time. This attack is part of a broader coordinated assault targeting multiple urban centers across western and central Ukraine.
In Lviv, explosions were also recorded across several districts, resulting in injuries and damage. A residential building near St. Andrew's Church in one district caught fire. Vinnytsia experienced blasts that sent a column of black smoke into the sky, while Ivano-Frankivsk saw explosions that forced public transport to halt operations entirely.
Taras Pastukh urged residents to remain in shelters, stating: 'The air raid alert in the region is ongoing! Air defense is active. Enemy targets are being shot down. I ask everyone: stay in shelter.'
This series of strikes underscores the persistent threat posed by enemy forces to Ukrainian cities, highlighting the urgent need to bolster and sustain air defense systems. Authorities are calling on the population to follow safety protocols and remain calm as the situation stays tense. Different regions across the country are grappling with the fallout of active hostilities, requiring coordinated efforts from all emergency services to ensure public safety.
