Massive strike by Russia on Odesa: 500 houses without light and heat, injuries reported (updated).


Russia launched an attack on Odesa: four people were injured, including a child
On the night of February 19, Russians carried out a devastating attack on Odesa. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, four people were injured as a result of the shelling, including a child.
The fire that broke out after the shelling was extinguished by rescuers together with volunteers from the Ukrainian Firefighters Association. The injured include a clinic building, a 24-story residential building, a kindergarten, and several cars.
Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov previously reported on the consequences of the attack. As a result of the shelling, 14 schools, 13 kindergartens, and over 500 houses in a large residential area were left without light and heating. Specialists are already conducting damage assessments and predicting how long it will take to restore the damaged facilities.
The children's clinic and kindergarten sustained serious damage.
The mayor reported that they are beginning to set up tent cities, and the district administration will start accepting applications from residents of damaged apartments in the morning. Utility services are working to eliminate the aftermath of the attack.
Due to the lack of heating and electricity, educational institutions will not accept children today, February 19, but heating points and resilience points will be operational, where people can warm up, recharge their devices, and have hot tea.
Also, that night, Russian rockets hit the suburbs of Sumy. The Sumy City Council reported that there were no casualties or injuries.
Sounds of explosions were heard in Kyiv and the region, where Air Defense forces were operating.
