Afghanistan: floods claim the lives of 17 people after heavy rains.
According to ТСН: Significant floods have occurred in Afghanistan, affecting several regions of the country after a prolonged period of drought. This surge of natural disasters has been caused by intense rain and snowfall.

According to official data from the National Disaster Management Authority, the deaths of at least 17 people have been confirmed, and another 11 individuals have been injured.
In the Kabkan area, in the Herat province, the flood led to tragedy: five members of one family, including two children, were killed due to the collapse of the roof of a residential building.
Impact on the population
The floods affected more than 1800 families. Many of the damaged houses were built of clay, making them particularly vulnerable to the force of the water. In addition to housing, the disaster destroyed livestock and important critical infrastructure objects. Special groups are already operating in the most affected regions to assess the damage and determine the needs for assistance.

Additionally, a earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 occurred in northern Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of at least ten people.
