According to TSN.ua: In a joint operation, Ukraine's Migration Police and criminal investigators have dismantled a network involved in the online sexual exploitation of children, arresting 15 suspects. Deputy Head of the National Police, Andrii Nebytov, stated that even during wartime, child predators continue their depraved activities. This operation highlights the persistent threat of such crimes, which often exploit digital platforms to target vulnerable minors.
Law enforcement has served notices of suspicion to all 15 individuals for producing and distributing child sexual abuse material, as well as for committing sexual violence against minors. The shocking details of the cases include:
- In the Ternopil region, a 35-year-old man recruited underage girls via Telegram.
- In the Rivne region, a suspect was detained for targeting children from low-income families.
- In the Vinnytsia region, a private entrepreneur sexually exploited a 12-year-old girl for several months.
In Lutsk, a mother used her three-year-old daughter to produce pornographic content. In Kyiv, a pedophile was found to have raped the 7-year-old daughter of acquaintances and filmed the assault. During a search of his property, authorities seized computer equipment and flash drives containing over 5 terabytes of child sexual abuse material.
Criminal Methods and Technology
Technology played a key role in these crimes, with suspects attempting to maintain anonymity through VPN services, cryptocurrency wallets, and closed online platforms. This special operation underscores the severity of child sexual exploitation in Ukraine and the need for proactive law enforcement measures to combat it.
