Zelensky's Peace Plan Will Not Be Signed: Political Scientist Named the Real Reasons for Its Publication.
According to ТСН: The peace plan of 20 points announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky will not be signed, and its publication has certain political goals.
According to Ukrainian political scientist Vadym Denysenko, the publication of this plan was most likely not initiated by the American side, although it cannot be ruled out that European partners supported it.
Vadym Denysenko believes that the reasons for publishing the plan may be the 'continuation of talks with the Russians', which may compel Americans to strengthen their demands, as well as the implementation of President Zelensky's domestic political course.
The political scientist noted that the Kremlin is unlikely to agree to sign this document and expressed assumptions about further actions of the negotiation participants.
'Americans will continue negotiations based on a tougher stance from the Kremlin and will pressure Ukraine, including by refusing the idea of an analogy with NATO's Article 5. It is likely that the issue of negotiations will again become part of the confrontation between Democrats and Republicans, which would become a global problem for us.'
According to Denysenko, Putin may agree to peace negotiations out of fear; however, for this, U.S. President Donald Trump currently lacks the capabilities, and China 'will not play the U.S. game'.
Denysenko also emphasized that the Kremlin may approve a peace agreement if it receives desired conditions, such as territories, the lifting of sanctions, and a return to geopolitics, as well as influence over the Ukrainian elections.
'The last point today seems unrealistic, while the first three he [Putin] will push for.'
Vadym Denysenko also drew attention to the planned visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Moscow on February 7, 2026, which 'may play the role of a kind of Chamberlain'.
'I am very skeptical that we are already at the finish line.'
Moreover, U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Vitaker believes that settling the war in Ukraine is possible in the next 90 days.
Earlier, it was reported that at the peace negotiations regarding Ukraine, the parties are discussing four documents. In particular, the U.S. is trying to understand what the Kremlin is willing to do to end the war.
Thus, the situation surrounding the peace negotiations remains complex and dynamic. Discussions on the possibilities of reaching an agreement indicate ongoing tensions between the parties and the need for international diplomatic intervention. The agenda of the negotiations may change depending on political circumstances, so it is important to monitor subsequent steps from both Ukraine and international partners.
