The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget Issues, Roksolana Pidlasa, reported that if expenditures not backed by revenues in the 2025 budget increase, the International Monetary Fund will demand an increase in VAT.
This information was published by the deputy in an author column on Economic Truth.
"In particular, we understand that if expenditures not covered by actual revenues increase, the IMF will demand an increase in VAT by at least 2 percentage points," Pidlasa said.
She added that significant changes are not anticipated in the 2025 budget and the project was agreed with the IMF. In this case, with increased expenditures, the IMF will demand an increase in VAT by two percentage points.
