The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the President of Slovakia regarding Ukraine's territorial concessions.
Ukraine condemned the statement of the President of Slovakia regarding territorial concessions for peace with Russia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sharply condemned the statement of Slovak President Peter Pellegrini about the necessity to make territorial concessions to achieve peace with Russia.
Spokesman of the Ministry, Georgiy Tikhy, considers these proposals unacceptable and reminds what consequences similar 'peaceful' decisions in the past could have.
President Pellegrini expressed the need for immediate negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, asserting that it is impossible to achieve peace without partial loss of Ukrainian territories. However, the Ukrainian diplomat sharply reacted to this proposal.
'The last Time Slovak land was given to the aggressor ostensibly for the sake of peace, it brought no positive results either for Slovaks or for other nations,' Tikhy emphasized. His comment serves as a direct warning against any territorial compromises that could create a dangerous precedent and encourage the aggressor to further seizures.
The position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is unequivocal: concessions to the occupier cannot be made, as this does not guarantee peace but rather incites further aggression.
Earlier, the head of Slovakia reached out to Xi Jinping, asking what kind of 'peace' Slovakia wishes for Ukraine.
