All parishioners of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Myrnohrad, Donetsk region, were evacuated. Only the priest and volunteers, who are working on evacuating the church, remained in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. This was reported by the UGCC press service.

On August 11, the iconostasis was dismantled in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and all valuable items, which are planned to be transported to Dnipro, were collected. Among the valuable items to be evacuated from the church is a marble angel from 1894, which survived two world wars.

The evacuation of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul has begun. Priest Ivan Vasylenko said: "It hurts, my heart feels empty. The iconostasis, icons, banners, library, all consecrated items for the church have to be taken out of the city of Myrnohrad and generally out of Donetsk region. This church was built for the glory of God and the salvation of human souls. The enemy is already nearby, so this is everything for us for now. Just today we prayed here, hugged each other, people cried and left. I am left alone. Now we will dismantle the icons with the guy who helped with the construction."

Earlier, the Church of the Holy Trinity, consecrated last year, was evacuated.

It is worth noting that the parish continues to support humanitarian aid to local residents. At 3:00 PM daily, a social wardrobe operates at the church where local residents can receive clothes and food.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated his readiness to make a decision that "will strengthen our Ukrainian spiritual independence".

The Russian Orthodox Church, by the way, considers the consecration of nuclear weapons quite acceptable.
