His death is a stark reminder of the immense human cost of Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine.
Life and Work
Mykola Dziak was born on February 7, 1985. He enrolled at the Dnipro Medical Academy in 2002, graduating in 2008, and concurrently completed a military department program, earning the rank of junior lieutenant in the medical reserve. After his studies, he worked as a doctor-intern in Dnipro starting in 2008 and pursued postgraduate studies from 2009 to 2012. In 2016, he defended his candidate's dissertation and published over 37 scientific and methodological works. Since 2013, Dziak had held a position as a lecturer in the Department of Hygiene and Ecology.
Beyond his medical career, Mykola was also a talented musician. He was the lead singer for the band 'The Secret of the Third Planet' from 2008 to 2015 and, from 2011, for the band 'Griboyedov's House.' His music, much like his professional endeavors, was characterized by creativity and sincerity.
Following Russia's full-scale invasion, Mykola Dziak joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he demonstrated exceptional commitment and courage. At the time of his death, he was serving as a lieutenant in the medical service. His passing is a profound loss for his colleagues, friends, and family.
Unfortunately, Kolya's heart could not endure, though we fought to the very end. The best and brightest are leaving us. Simply the brightest people. Listen to his music; he was very talented, creative, and a very kind person.
