Ukrainian Deminers Recover Wreckage of 'Kinzhal' Missiles Following February 11th Attack.
Recovery of Enemy Missile Fragments in Rizhniv
According to TSN.ua: On February 13th, demining teams recovered fragments of an enemy missile in the village of Rizhniv, located in the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region. The missile had fallen during an attack two days earlier, on February 11th, an incident that underscores the ongoing conflict's reach into western Ukraine.
The February 11th assault occurred during an air raid alert that lasted from 14:39 to 15:27. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted two Russian 'Kinzhal' missiles during this attack, which were launched from MiG-31K fighter jets operating from the 'Savasleyka' airfield. In addition to the wreckage recovered in Rizhniv, another missile fragment was discovered near the town of Khodoriv in the Stryi district, lying just 20 meters from a railway track.
Heightened Tensions in the Region
These events highlight the persistent dangers and heightened tensions in the region due to military strikes. Law enforcement and emergency services continue their work to ensure public safety and are implementing measures to prevent future incidents.
The recovery of these missile parts is a stark reminder of active combat operations across Ukraine, including in western areas once considered relatively secure. The 'Kinzhal' is a Russian hypersonic missile that Moscow has frequently touted as nearly impossible to intercept. Such incidents emphasize the critical need for enhanced air defense systems and the preparedness of local authorities for emergencies. The situation remains volatile, demanding constant vigilance from state institutions and international partners.
