The situation with civilians in Zaporizhzhia region
According to ТСН: The police of Zaporizhzhia region do not have information about 28 civilians who remain in dangerous areas. Currently, these people reside in Stepnohirs'k, Mali Tokmachka, and Uspenivka — places located near the frontline or in temporarily occupied territories that are difficult to access.
More than 100 people remain in Huliaipole. Since the beginning of 2026, it has been possible to evacuate 15 people from six frontline communities. To enhance safety in the region, anti-drone police groups have started working, going to dangerous directions to destroy enemy drones, including so-called "drone-waiters." Law enforcement officers have already undergone special training and are again urging civilians not to delay evacuation.
“For his part, Andrii Bulavinov, deputy director of the Civil Protection Department of the Zaporizhzhia OVA, reminded that since 2023, mandatory evacuation of families with children has been declared seven times from 27 settlements of seven communities. A total of 349 children have been evacuated, and as of the end of 2025, the evacuation of children with parents has been fully completed.”
Currently, mandatory evacuation is ongoing from 33 settlements in five communities of three districts. According to Bulavinov, 299 people still need to be evacuated, including from Malokaterynivka and 18 settlements of the Huliaipil' community, as well as the Vozdvizhivska, Malotokmachanska, and Stepnohirs'ka communities.
The situation in the Zaporizhzhia region remains tense, and local authorities are taking measures to ensure the safety of the civilian population. Evacuation continues, and law enforcement encourages people not to postpone leaving dangerous areas, as the situation can escalate at any moment. The effective actions of anti-drone groups are also aimed at protecting the population from new threats.
