Born after his mother died from shelling: baby Nazar discharged from hospital

According to ТСН: Three-month-old Nazar has been discharged from the hospital — the child whose mother, Tetiana, died during the Russian attack on Kyiv in September. The woman suffered 95 percent burns to her body, and during the seventh month of her pregnancy, doctors had to urgently perform a cesarean section.

Nazar spent three months fighting for his life in intensive care, underwent four neurosurgical operations, and endured the difficult trials faced by his family.

Born on a 'terrible morning'

Nazar was born on September 7, on a 'terrible morning', at 32 weeks of pregnancy by cesarean section. His parents, Tetiana and Vadym, moved to the capital from Kirovohrad region to prepare for the arrival of their first child. During the explosion, mother Tetiana received 95% burns and lived for less than three weeks.

The child, who appeared in the world after a severe trauma, was in critical condition, as reported by the pediatric neurosurgeon.

“Nazar was in very serious condition. On one hand, he had progressing dilation of the ventricular system of the brain. And an increase in intracranial pressure. Against the backdrop of a hemorrhage, which occurred due to this severe trauma,” says pediatric neurosurgeon of the Kyiv Perinatal Center, Nadiya Belkevych.

The boy's father needs help

While doctors in one hospital fought for the baby's life, in another, in intensive care, lay the boy's father Vadym. As a result of the Russian attack, he lost his hearing, and his body is 85% covered in burns. Ahead of him are several surgeries and a long rehabilitation.

The charity organization “Mama and Baby” is trying to organize treatment for Vadym abroad.

“I contacted Italy for help — this clinic gives a chance and operates on people for free. We are now preparing to submit updated documents about his current condition and will organize everything to bring him back to life,” says Alla Melnychuk, the head of the charity organization “Mama and Baby.”

New life and great expectations

Today, Nazar along with his family gathered in his ward, is preparing for discharge.

“We are very happy that he is alive. This is such a day we've been waiting for. If only everything goes well,” says grandmother Svitlana Valentynivna.

The child's care is taken by Aunt Oksana Bohdan, who, together with the boy, will go to Ivano-Frankivsk. There, a three-year-old cousin is already waiting for Nazar.

“Today, tears are flowing, of course, it shouldn't have been this way. Things should have been different. Everything is mixed up. This is Tetyana's continuation. We see her in him. This is our most precious memory. Which we will cherish. And we will tell how strong and good a mother she was,” says Oksana Bohdan.

Nazar feels well and has every chance of a healthy life.

This story is a vivid example of the strength of human spirit in the face of unspeakable grief. Nazar, as a symbol of hope, is embarking on a new stage of his life, surrounded by love and support from his relatives. And his father Vadym needs help to return to ordinary life after horrific trials. Charitable organizations are actively working to provide him with necessary treatment, hoping for justice and support from society.
