Zelensky did not sign the law on the abolition of the clock change: what will happen next.
According to ТСН: This decision was made with regard to the health of the population and economic benefit.
The reaction of the society was mixed, but the time change was not cancelled. President Volodymyr Zelensky planned to sign the bill that would finally abolish the traditional clock shift twice a year, however, the document did not receive a signature.
When does Ukraine change to summer time
The transition to summer and winter time is regulated by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. According to the traditional schedule:
Summer time begins on the last Sunday of March, when clocks are set forward by one hour.
Winter time begins on the last Sunday of October, when clocks are set back by one hour.
Thus, in 2026 the transition to summer time will occur on March 29 at 3:00 AM local time.
Most modern devices will automatically update the time, while mechanical watches will need to be adjusted manually.
It should be noted that Ukraine is not the only country: many countries in Europe also change their clocks twice a year - in spring and autumn.
Despite the mixed reaction from the public, Ukraine will still have to experience several transitions to summer and winter time in the coming years. This issue remains relevant, as many people around the world are advocating for the abolition of the clock changes for summer and winter time, considering it outdated. However, a final decision will require monitoring the development of events and possible changes in legislation.
