Germany transfers 5 Eurofighter jets to Poland: reaction to Russia and Belarus drills.
Germany has sent five Eurofighter jets to Poland. This happened four weeks before the start of the 'West-2025' exercises by Belarus and Russia. This is reported by Bild.
Eurofighter jets in Poland
'The German Air Force's Eurofighter jets will first conduct flights from the Minsk military airfield Mazowiecki,' noted the Air Force spokeswoman.
According to her, the deployment is a clear sign of Alliance solidarity within NATO, and serves as a reliable means of deterrence and airspace protection.
Five Eurofighter jets will support German soldiers defending the airspace over Rzeszow. It is known that they have two fire units from the Patriot air defense system.
'The association provides a so-called 'alarm squadron' — rapid response forces capable of responding to possible airspace violations in the shortest time,' stated the Federal Ministry of Defense.
Recall that military exercises of Russia and Belarus 'West-2025' will take place in mid-September. They are expected to be large-scale. Recently, the self-proclaimed leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, urged the European Union to unite with Russia.
The Ukrainian army has joined the exercises and improved cooperation with partners from the European Union and NATO to enhance security in the region and strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
