The new commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the real purpose of the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region.
The enemy disrupted mobilization plans in the Kharkiv region - Armed Forces commander
The commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Andriy Hnatov, spoke about the enemy's attempt to hinder the rapid progress of mobilization in the Kharkiv direction. The enemy was unsuccessful, and the purpose of their offensive was not to capture tens of kilometers of territory but to discredit the results of mobilization. The commander stated that the main goal of the enemy was to complicate the situation and force the deployment of additional forces to the Kharkiv direction.
This move was aimed at forcing the opponent to use their reserves and focus on the defense of the Kharkiv region. Thus, the enemy tried to hinder the concentration of forces for a counteroffensive in other directions.
The Telegraph reported that the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region started earlier than planned. This led to other Russian units in Donbas not being sufficiently prepared.
