New 'Kyiv-Bratislava' train to start operating this year.
According to information received from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Slovakia is ready to launch a new train from Kyiv to Bratislava this year. This was stated by the Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
This information was announced at the Sixth meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak mixed commission. In addition, the possibility of extending the train route to other European countries is being considered.
Slovakia confirmed readiness to launch the new "Kyiv-Bratislava" train with a transfer at Chop station in mid-December
Also at the meeting, plans were discussed regarding the reconstruction of the interstate electric interconnector "Mukachevo-Velke Kapushany" and the modernization of the "Uzhgorod-Vyshne Nemecke" checkpoint.
It is worth noting that the "Kyiv-Bratislava" route was discussed back in October, when it was announced that the cars would also run to Vienna.
Recall that at the beginning of September, a passenger train caught fire in the Rivne region. This information was reported by the main directorate of the SES of Ukraine in the region.
Earlier, a train with Members of the European Parliament was also evacuated, which was supposed to depart from Strasbourg to Brussels, due to an unexplained explosion, presumably in the locomotive.
