Poisoning at a Lviv restaurant - what violations were identified by specialists.

A comprehensive inspection is taking place at the restaurant in Lviv where a mass poisoning occurred. Currently, 76 people have been hospitalized, including 10 children and two pregnant women.

Serious violations found in the restaurant

Laboratory research confirmed the presence of the Salmonella enteriditis bacteria in 25 visitors and one restaurant employee, causing gastrointestinal illness. Four other employees of the establishment are undergoing additional examinations.

During the epidemiological investigation, serious violations were identified, including:

• Problems with dishwashing in the kitchen;
• Incorrect storage of kitchen utensils;
• Violations in food storage;
• Chaos in the storage of cleaning agents and lack of necessary labeling;
• Absence of temperature control for food storage.

It was also found that only 7 out of 23 restaurant employees had medical books, so 16 individuals were recommended to be suspended from work for examinations and treatment if necessary.

Laboratory tests of products and water are ongoing, which have currently shown no harmful viruses and bacteria. Eggs and meat have also been checked for compliance with safety norms.

It has been established that the poisoning occurred at the restaurant on July 14-15, prompting the police to initiate a criminal proceeding.

Earlier, the deputy director of the Lviv regional infectious diseases clinical hospital had already reported on patient symptoms and possible causes of poisoning.

It has been reported that as a result of the mass poisoning at the restaurant, serious violations in the field of sanitation and hygiene were identified, leading to the spread of Salmonella enteriditis bacteria and the hospitalization of many people. The police have launched an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the case and clarify responsibility for the incident.
