From Stage to Service: Nazva's Pavlo Hots on Boosting Soldier Morale and 'Radio Infantry'.
Pavlo Hots's Role in the Armed Forces
According to TSN.ua: Pavlo Hots, a musician from the Ukrainian band Nazva, has detailed his work within the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), where he has served for over a year. His primary focus is on psychological and moral support for troops, alongside running a project called 'Radio Infantry.' This initiative aims to sustain soldier morale and cultivate a cultural environment within the military ranks.
Hots joined the AFU more than a year ago, initially working in the Zaporizhzhia region. In his service, he plays a crucial part in shaping the psychological climate among personnel.
"I was working in the Zaporizhzhia region as part of the moral and psychological support unit for the troops," Hots noted. "Now my focus is more on media and culture. I create music for the military and host 'Radio Infantry'—a station by soldiers, for soldiers. We are pushing culture forward within the army, bringing artists together so that military culture can be created, professed, and spread."
The Significance of Cultural Initiatives
He is now actively engaged in media and cultural work, producing music for servicemen and hosting a radio program that fosters the exchange of ideas and cultural expression among troops. Hots emphasized how his perspective has evolved through this experience:
"I think I used to be more flippant in my expressions. It seemed like everything was just for fun—just to say something and have people understand. Now, thanks to my service, I feel it's important to speak here and now. Perhaps something will remain after your life ends. That's why I now try to be more thoughtful with my words, to formulate things more clearly."
Therefore, Pavlo Hots's activities within the AFU represent a significant contribution to both the psychological well-being of soldiers and the development of a cultural sphere among the military.
His service and active participation in cultural projects underscore the critical need to maintain troop morale during challenging times. Creating media content and music for the armed forces not only lifts spirits but also fosters unity and a shared cultural identity. This work serves as a powerful example for other artists looking to contribute to supporting the army and society at large. In conflicts, maintaining the mental resilience of soldiers is as vital as their physical training and equipment.
