The attacks led to power outages in parts of Kyiv

According to ТСН: As a result of the night and morning attacks on energy facilities in Kyiv, about 500,000 residents of the capital were left without electricity.

According to DTEK, power outages occurred in the areas of Obolon, Solomjanka, Shevchenkivskyi, Podil, Holosiivka, and Sviatoshyn.

Emergency teams are already working at the damage sites, specialists are assessing the extent of the destruction and starting recovery work.

Situation in the energy system

According to 'Ukrenergo', the recent attack was the seventh massive rocket and drone attack in the last two months. Due to the strikes, a large number of consumers were left without electricity not only in Kyiv but also in the Kyiv region and the Kharkiv region. Where possible, urgent and recovery work is still ongoing.

As a result of today’s and previous attacks, scheduled outages for the population, as well as capacity restrictions for industrial and commercial consumers, are being implemented in all regions.

'Ukrenergo' also notes that electricity consumption has increased. At 8:30 AM, total consumption was 2.1% higher than in the previous week. Yesterday’s evening peak consumption remained at the level of the previous day.

Energy suppliers urge citizens to save electricity, minimize the use of high-power appliances, and whenever possible, shift energy-intensive processes to after 10:00 PM. This helps reduce the duration of the necessary outages.

'Attention! The situation in the energy system may change. Follow information on the websites and official pages on social networks of your distribution network operator (Oblenergo),' - added 'Ukrenergo'.

Traffic problems in the capital

We remind you that in the capital, due to the combined Russian attack, traffic on the Kharkiv highway is blocked, and on the right side of the city, trolleybuses and trams are being held up.

These attacks on energy-generating infrastructure once again highlight the vulnerability of the system and the need to support the energy sector. During wartime, it is important to follow the recommendations of professionals and be prepared for possible power outages. At the same time, the situation in traffic remains complicated, making movement in the capital under extraordinary circumstances even more difficult.
