Italian volunteer Yuri married a Ukrainian woman: a love story from television.
According to ТСН: An unusual love story unfolded in Ukraine between Ukrainian Natalia and Italian Yuri, which began with a chance meeting at the "Unified News" marathon. Yuri arrived in Ukraine three years ago to become a volunteer. During this time, he not only learned the Ukrainian language but also found friends and true love.
How it all began
Natalia recalls how, while making coffee, she accidentally saw a wonderful man on the television screen. She was struck by his beauty and thought, 'What is such an attractive Italian doing in Ukraine during the war?'
Yuri's service in Ukraine
Yuri served in several military units, such as "Carpathian Sich," the International Legion, and the Ternopil Battalion. He has currently signed his fifth contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Getting to know each other through social media
Yuri actively shares his experiences on social media, initially posting in Italian, and later in Ukrainian. One day he paid attention to a message from Natalia in which she left her phone number offering her help.
'She helped me a lot. As a volunteer. And later we started talking longer and more about everything in the world. I shared my anxieties and problems with her, and she helped me,' recalls Yuri Previtali.
Video call and wedding
After a year of correspondence, they finally had their first video call. TSN host Kateryna Nestenko notes that she could not imagine why she was invited to the wedding, as communication with Yuri mostly revolved around military topics.
The celebration highlighted the international nature of love, decorated with a Ukrainian loaf and Italian songs. Yuri continues to learn Ukrainian, but jokingly says that Natalia has not yet managed to master Italian.
