According to TSN.ua: A 17-year-old boy named Illia, who was wounded in a terror attack in Lviv on February 22, 2023, has now been discharged from the hospital. The attack, carried out by a 33-year-old woman from the Rivne region, also claimed the life of 23-year-old police officer Viktoriia Shpylka. This incident occurred against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, which has heightened security concerns across the country.

On that day, an explosion rocked Lviv, injuring Illia. The teenager recounted the harrowing events:

“When a police officer asked me to move away from the scene, a second explosion happened a few seconds later. Shrapnel hit me in the head, my right shoulder blade, and my leg. I fell, then got up and ran. At first, I didn't even realize I was wounded. It was only when I reached a neighboring street that I saw blood flowing from my head.”

Aftermath of the Attack

Illia was released from the hospital on February 24, 2023, after receiving treatment for his injuries. The attack resulted in the death of police officer Viktoriia Shpylka, who was performing her duties at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, with the woman from the Rivne region suspected of carrying out the attack.
