Moldova summoned the Russian ambassador over a drone Z on the roof of a house: details.
According to ТСН: Oleg Ozerev, the ambassador for special assignments of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova to explain the fall of a Russian drone on a house in the Floresti area. The drone with the Russian symbol 'Z' met the diplomat on the steps of the government building.
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that a note of protest was handed over due to the illegal violation of Moldovan airspace by six drones that occurred the day before.
'The ministry qualified these actions as absolutely unacceptable, emphasizing that they constitute a serious violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and a direct threat to national and regional security. The Ministry reiterated its call to the Russian Federation to refrain from any actions that threaten the security of our country, and to strictly adhere to international norms, as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova,' the statement from the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
In addition, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry appealed to the Embassy of the Russian Federation with a request to take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a model of the 'Gerbera' drone, which was found on the roof of a house in Kuhureștii-de-Jos in the Floresti district, was handed over to the Russian diplomat.
Upon leaving the building, Ozerev commented on the situation, repeating narratives promoted by pro-Russian politicians. According to local media, he claimed that 'the drone is too small, it couldn't have fallen, it didn't even pierce the roof' of the house, and that 'nothing has been proven.'
It is also known that on the morning of November 25, the surveillance systems of Romania and Moldova recorded several drone flights over their territories, and one of the Russian drones was found on the roof of a house in one of the settlements of Moldova.
These events confirm the growing tensions in the region caused by the activity of drones owned by Russia. Moldova's reaction underscores their determination to defend their airspace and national sovereignty. The international community is expected to pay attention to this situation as drones pose an increasingly serious threat to security in Europe.
