According to TSN.ua: An air raid alert was declared across Ukraine on February 17 due to the threat of missile attacks. Russian forces targeted several regions, specifically:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Kirovohrad
- Odesa
- Ivano-Frankivsk
- Lviv
The alert was issued at 06:10, with launches of Kh-101/555 cruise missiles from Russian strategic aviation, including Tu-95 and Tu-160 aircraft, being confirmed. These long-range strikes are part of Russia's ongoing campaign to target Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian areas.
Situation in the Regions
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the enemy attacked using missiles, drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. Five districts within the oblast came under fire. In the city of Dnipro, a fire broke out, damaging administrative buildings and cars. As noted by Oleksandr Ganzha:
“In Dnipro, a private enterprise, administrative buildings, homes, and cars have been damaged.”
Fortunately, according to Andrii Raikovych:
“There are no dead or injured. The situation is under control.”
In Odesa, three people were injured in the attack, one of them a man in serious condition. Oleh Kiper reported that 'one of the UAVs hit an apartment on the upper floors of a multi-story building'. Several explosions were heard in Ivano-Frankivsk, part of a series of blasts reported in settlements across Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing for further mass attacks.
The threat of missile strikes remains active, and residents in the affected regions continue to be closely monitored by emergency services. The situation is serious, and authorities are urging citizens to adhere to safety measures.
The situation in Ukraine remains tense due to persistent threats from the Russian Federation. Attacks on civilian objects, such as residential buildings and administrative structures, underscore the severity of the security situation in the country. Authorities are calling on the population to remain vigilant and follow official announcements, as similar missile strikes could recur at any time. The international community's response to these events is also crucial, as it may influence the further development of the conflict and the security situation in the region.
