Ukraine Under Air Raid Alert as Russian MiG-31K with 'Kinzhal' Missiles Threatens Multiple Regions.
Air Raid Alert Across Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: An air raid alert was declared across Ukraine on February 11th due to the threat of a Russian missile attack. The alert was triggered by the takeoff of a Russian MiG-31K fighter jet, an aircraft capable of launching Kh-47M2 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missiles. A high-speed target was tracked moving toward the Zhytomyr region, specifically near Zviahel, and past the Rivne region in the direction of Lviv. These advanced missiles are a key component of Russia's long-range strike arsenal.
A loud explosion was heard in Lviv. Earlier on February 11th, air raid sirens had also sounded in Kyiv and numerous other regions. Ukraine's Air Force had issued warnings about drones heading toward Konotop, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. Explosions were also reported in Konotop, where the city's mayor confirmed the operation of air defense systems.
"Lviv, take shelter!"
Ongoing Russian Threat
This incident underscores the persistent threat from Russia that has continued since the onset of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The declaration of air raid alerts and the activation of air defenses highlight the critical need for constant readiness against potential strikes, a reality driven by Russia's deployment of new missile systems.
It is crucial that local authorities and military structures continue their work to ensure public safety amid these elevated danger levels.
