Polish PM Furious Over Exclusion from London Ukraine Meeting on June 7.
Poland Voices Anger on the World Stage
According to Espreso.tv: Donald Tusk, Poland’s Prime Minister, expressed strong frustration that his country was not invited to a London meeting with Ukraine’s president held on June 7. He stressed that Poland’s presence in talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine is critical, stating:
“Poland must be included in the negotiations”— Donald Tusk. The meeting, which focused on Western support for Kyiv, excluded Warsaw despite its frontline role in assisting Ukraine.
E3 Format Draws Sharp Criticism
On June 9, Tusk leveled criticism at the E3 format—comprising the UK, France, and Germany—arguing that Poland should play an active part in discussions on Ukraine’s situation. A British government spokesperson responded by reaffirming that
“solidarity with Ukraine remains our priority”.
Tusk’s discontent highlights Poland’s insistence on being included in international talks regarding security in Ukraine and the broader region. As a neighboring country with strategic importance in resolving the conflict, Poland’s active involvement in diplomatic processes could significantly shape future developments.
- Including Poland in negotiations could strengthen coordination among Western allies.
- It would also help advance the goal of achieving peace in Ukraine.
