Mandatory Child Evacuation Ordered in Sloviansk: Official Decree Signed.
Sloviansk Orders Mandatory Evacuation of Children
According to TSN.ua: An official order mandating the evacuation of children from the most vulnerable areas of Sloviansk, located in the Donetsk region, has been signed. Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed the decree has been submitted for approval to the Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Measures under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
This decision comes as the Donetsk region remains the epicenter of hostilities, with Russian occupation forces intensifying pressure on Ukrainian defensive lines. The Russian military is conducting offensive operations across multiple front sectors, stretching from northern Sumy Oblast to southern Zaporizhzhia Oblast. As a result, local authorities are taking urgent steps to safeguard children from escalating dangers.
Notably, Ukrainian defenders have repelled 54 enemy assault attempts near Lyman and Pokrovsk. Despite these efforts, the risks to civilians—especially children—remain critically high. The mandatory evacuation aims to protect minors residing in high-risk areas of Sloviansk, including:
- Vyacheslav Chornovil Street
- Myronivska Street
- Karpatska Street
- and others
Authorities warn that streets, alleys, and driveways in Sloviansk—such as Vyacheslava Chornovola, Krynychnyi, and others—could become perilous as combat operations intensify. The forced evacuation of children is a critical step to uphold their safety and rights amid the ongoing conflict.
Humanitarian Crisis Deepens in the Region
The situation in Sloviansk underscores the severity of the humanitarian crisis in the area, where active fighting continues to endanger civilian lives, particularly those of children. Mandatory evacuation is a vital measure to reduce risks and ensure the protection of the most vulnerable populations. It also reflects the Ukrainian government's commitment to responding to threats and defending children's rights during the conflict.
