UN Security Council is afraid to expel the Russian Federation, and it was excluded from the third international organization of ombudsmen - Lubinets.

Russian ombudsman excluded from the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen

At an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen, a decision was made to exclude the Russian ombudsman from this organization. This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

According to Lubinets, this is the third organization that has expelled the Russian representative, the first being the International Ombudsman Institute in August 2022, and in April 2023 - the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions.

"While the UN Security Council is afraid to even start the procedure of excluding the Russian Federation, the friendly family of ombudsmen is acting confidently. If international organizations take the example, Russian representatives will be isolated and will not be able to spread their propaganda," noted Lubinets, emphasizing that the terrorist country should not have a voice on the world stage.

Other organizations that also excluded Russia stated that the Russians cynically violate international legal norms that govern the conduct of war and protect the civilian population.

Ukrainians released from captivity returned home

On September 13, 49 civilians and military personnel returned from Russian captivity to Ukraine. Dmytro Lubinets published touching photos of the freed Ukrainians.

Earlier, Dmytro Lubinets addressed the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the possible execution of a Ukrainian prisoner by the occupiers.

Also, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights emphasized that the incident involving the beating of a man in Transcarpathia requires immediate and impartial investigation.
