Rocket strike on Kharkiv: the number of injured has increased, people are under the rubble.
According to ТСН: As a result of the rocket shelling of a multi-apartment building in Kharkiv, the number of injured has risen to 15 people. There are reports that people may be trapped under the rubble.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov.
According to preliminary data, Russian troops launched two strikes with ballistic weapons on Kharkiv.
“At this time, medics have provided assistance to 15 injured. There is information that people are still under the rubble. Search operations are ongoing,” said Synegubov's statement.
Emergency service units, law enforcement officers, and paramedics are working at the scene. All necessary measures are being taken to rescue the victims as quickly as possible.
The head of the OVA also shared photos of the aftermath of the shelling of the residential five-story building.
It is recalled that on January 2, Russian troops struck Kharkiv with two rockets, hitting the residential sector of the Kyiv district. As a result of the attacks, the five-story building sustained significant damage, a large fire broke out, and neighboring houses were also affected. Earlier, there were reports of 13 injured. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the rescue operation is ongoing and called on the international community to strengthen Ukraine's air defense to protect against regular Russian attacks.
This shelling indicates the continuation of aggressive actions by Russian troops against the civilian population of Ukraine. The increase in the number of injured and destruction in Kharkiv underscores the urgency of support from the international community, especially in terms of defense and humanitarian aid. The situation remains critical, and rescue services are working to ensure the safety of the victims and find the missing persons.
