Cardiologists named a morning habit that significantly increases the risk of heart attack.
According to ТСН: According to the statistics from the British Heart Foundation, ischemic heart disease is one of the most common causes of death in the population. Doctors warn that many cases of heart attacks are caused not only by diet or stress but also by a habit that practically everyone has.
Cardiologist Sana Sadoksai noted that one of the morning habits can increase the risk of a heart attack.
“The real danger begins the moment you wake up and remain inactive. Most people transition from sleep to their phone, then sit and rush out the door, keeping their bodies in a state of low mobility and high inflammation. This habit secretly accelerates insulin resistance, abdominal fat accumulation, high blood pressure, hidden inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction, significantly increasing the risk of early heart attacks, especially if you are overweight or obese,” emphasized Sadoksai.
She stressed that just five to seven minutes of morning activity, such as brisk walking, stretching, or breathing exercises, can improve circulation, activate metabolism, and stabilize blood sugar levels. According to the cardiologist, physical activity can protect your heart, so changing your morning routine can save lives.
Signs of a Heart Attack
Myocardial infarction, or heart attack, occurs suddenly due to disrupted blood supply to the heart, usually due to clots. The main symptom is pain or discomfort in the chest, which can feel like pressure, squeezing, or heaviness.
Among other possible symptoms of a heart attack:
pain in the left or right arm, jaw, neck, back, and abdomen;
feeling dizzy;
excessive sweating;
shortness of breath;
feeling nauseous;
an overwhelming sense of anxiety similar to a panic attack;
coughing or wheezing.
Recommendations for Prevention
Experts recommend that to reduce the likelihood of a heart attack, follow these recommendations:
eliminate smoking and manage weight (if overweight);
maintain a balanced diet: limit fat intake and increase fiber consumption, including whole grains, and consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily;
engage in regular physical activity: adults are recommended to have at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week.
Dieticians also emphasize that certain foods can help lower cholesterol levels and support heart health. They recommend focusing on fresh and minimally processed foods rich in fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants.
Knowledge about heart diseases and their prevention can significantly reduce risks. It is important to remember that even small changes in daily life, such as morning activity and a balanced diet, can have a great impact on your health. Do not neglect your health, as the heart is the center of your body.
