Bridge Reconstruction at Solotvyno Border Crossing to Restrict Vehicle Traffic Until April 3.
Temporary Restrictions at the 'Solotvyno — Sighetu Marmației' Border Crossing Point
According to TSN.ua: Due to the reconstruction of a bridge over the Tisza River, temporary restrictions on vehicle movement will be in effect at the 'Solotvyno — Sighetu Marmației' crossing point from February 16 until April 3. This key border point connects Ukraine's Zakarpattia region with Romania, serving as a vital link for regional trade and travel.
On weekdays, vehicle processing will be suspended daily from 09:00 to 16:00. Pedestrian traffic, however, will continue without any restrictions, allowing people to move freely between Ukraine and Romania. Authorities advise travelers to account for these changes when planning their journeys during this period.
Significance of the Bridge Reconstruction
The bridge renovation is a crucial infrastructure project aimed at enhancing both safety and transport efficiency at the border. While vehicle movement will be limited, the continued availability of pedestrian crossing ensures that access for tourists and local residents remains open, a factor to consider for anyone planning a trip in the coming weeks.
