Russians attacked Chernihiv on Christmas Eve: a drone hit a residential building.
According to ТСН: On the evening of December 24, when Ukrainians traditionally prepare for the celebration, Russian occupiers dealt a brutal blow to the peaceful areas of Chernihiv.
Details of the attack
The head of Chernihiv City Military Administration Dmytro Bryzhynskyi reported that a hit occurred in a multi-story building, resulting in a fire in one of the apartments.
"A hit in a multi-story building has been recorded. A fire broke out in one of the apartments," he wrote and published a photo from the impact site.
The photo shows that, in addition to the apartment, a parked car nearby also caught fire.
Circumstances of the incident
At around 4:00 PM on December 24, a hostile drone's fall was recorded in Chernihiv, leading to damage to the building and a fire inside.
"Approximately at 4:00 PM on December 24, a fall of a hostile drone was recorded in the city area. A multi-apartment residential building was damaged, and a fire broke out inside the building. A car parked near the building is also on fire," the Chernihiv City Council added.
It is known that there were no casualties as a result of the attack.
"The hostile drone hit the side wall of the sixth floor of a multi-apartment residential building. A fire broke out in the apartment, which was promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service units," the statement said.
Preliminary assessments indicate that windows were broken in the building where the impact occurred, as well as in a neighboring dormitory. Two cars parked nearby also suffered damage due to the strike.

It is reminded that the day and night before, Russian military forces attacked civilian and critical infrastructure in Chernihiv with drones.
This attack became yet another testament to the ruthless aggression of the enemy, which continues to harm peaceful Ukrainians. Despite the current threats, Ukrainians remain resilient and ready to respond to any challenges.
