Drone Strike Hits Odesa Region: Kindergarten and Port Infrastructure Damaged.
Attack on Odesa Region
According to TSN.ua: On March 16, 2023, Russia launched a drone assault on the Odesa region using combat unmanned aerial vehicles. The strike damaged a kindergarten in Chornomorsk, specifically its facade and windows. Nearby apartment buildings were also affected, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The attack additionally damaged a food storage facility located within the port area. Chornomorsk Mayor Oleh Kiper addressed the incident, stating:
“Fortunately, there were no injuries” - Oleh Kiper
Emergency services are continuing to assess the aftermath and are working to restore the damaged infrastructure.
Need for International Support
This attack is part of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, where civilian sites are frequently targeted. Restoring infrastructure and ensuring public safety remain critical priorities for local authorities and the national government.
