Massive Russian Strikes Target Ukraine’s Power Grid: Blackouts Reported in Five Regions.
Russia Launches Major Offensive on Ukraine – Latest Developments
According to TSN.ua: Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out coordinated strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, hitting facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Chernihiv regions. These attacks have caused widespread power outages across the affected areas, with the most severe damage recorded in Odesa and Chernihiv oblasts.
In addition to the energy grid, sources confirm that Ukrainian ports and railway infrastructure were also targeted. In the Kirovohrad region, drones struck a locomotive maintenance depot, signaling an expansion of Russia’s target list. One incident in Dnipro involved an attack on a residential apartment building, leaving several people wounded.
Energy operators urge the public: 'Use electricity sparingly and avoid running multiple high-power appliances simultaneously during evening hours.'
These assaults are part of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, now in its second year. The enemy’s strategy aims to destabilize Ukraine’s power system and trigger humanitarian crises in areas already affected by hostilities. Amid the growing threat, Ukrainian authorities and energy workers are taking steps to maintain electricity supply stability and conserve resources.
