Bus Hit by Drone in Mykolaiv Region: Two Injured in Russian Attack.
Attacks on Civilian Vehicles Escalate
According to TSN.ua: On March 17, 2023, a Russian drone struck a bus in Ukraine's Mykolaiv region, leaving two people injured. A 69-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were hospitalized, and as of the following morning, their condition was stable but classified as moderate severity. This incident is part of a broader pattern of assaults on civilian transportation in Ukraine.
Just days earlier, Russian forces used an Iskander-M missile to target a bus in the Kharkiv region, killing one person and wounding four others. The confirmed death toll in that attack now stands at three, including the bus driver and two passengers.
Shelling and Worsening Security
On March 12, Russian troops also struck a transport infrastructure site in Mykolaiv using a Shahed drone. While no casualties were reported, the attack damaged two private homes and the roof of an educational facility. These events highlight the mounting danger for civilians as attacks on non-military targets become more frequent.
The security situation across Ukraine remains tense, with regular Russian assaults aimed at civilian infrastructure and transport. These actions endanger ordinary residents and draw continued international calls for measures to protect non-combatants and mitigate the humanitarian toll of the conflict.
