Russia Launches Large-Scale Attack on Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: On March 24, 2023, Russia carried out a massive combined strike against Ukraine, deploying more than 390 attack drones and 34 missiles of various types. This act of terrorism resulted in four fatalities and dozens of injuries, including children. Damage was reported across 11 Ukrainian regions, highlighting the widespread nature of the assault.
Earlier that morning, Russia launched over 550 drones targeting Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. During the night, 426 aerial attack assets were recorded. By 9 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted or suppressed 390 targets. Despite these efforts, six missiles and 27 attack drones struck 22 locations.
Primary Targets and Strategic Goals
Analysts indicate that the main thrust of the attack focused on Lviv, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, the Odesa region, and frontline areas. Civilian infrastructure was the primary target.
Military expert Oleh Zhdanov noted: 'Kyiv was subjected to preliminary reconnaissance,' adding, 'You can see that even tonight, the Gerbera drone circled over the CHP-5 plant.'
In total, Russia has launched over 900 Shahed-type drones across Ukrainian territory. This attack ranks among the largest in recent months, underscoring Moscow's continued aggressive stance toward Ukraine and the threat it poses to civilians.
This escalation highlights the intensifying conflict between Russia and Ukraine, particularly through the use of drones and missiles to strike civilian sites. With experts warning of potential future attacks, Ukraine's air defense systems remain actively engaged in protecting both people and infrastructure.
