Three Injured, Including a Child, in Overnight Drone Attack on Zaporizhzhia.
Zaporizhzhia Targeted by Drones
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces launched a drone assault on the city of Zaporizhzhia overnight on February 24, wounding three people, one of whom was a child. Mayor Ivan Fedorov confirmed the number of casualties from the attack.
The strikes, which numbered six across the city, caused an explosive blast and sent debris flying, damaging an apartment building. One of the impacts hit critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. This attack follows another drone strike on the city just a day earlier, on February 23, which resulted in one fatality. In a separate incident, a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a residential building in the village of Novoosynove in the Kupiansk district.
Worsening Humanitarian Crisis
These relentless attacks underscore the ongoing threat to civilians from Russia's military campaign in Ukraine. The targeting of cities and towns continues to cause civilian casualties and widespread destruction, severely exacerbating the country's humanitarian situation. The city of Zaporizhzhia, home to a major nuclear power plant, has been a frequent target since the war's beginning.
As the conflict persists, this violence fuels growing international concern and urgent calls for an end to the aggression against Ukraine's civilian population.
