According to ТСН: On Saturday evening in the Russian Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, an explosion occurred, resulting in part of the city and surrounding areas losing power. The incident was due to an accidental detonation of an aerial bomb dropped from a Russian fighter jet.

Details of the explosion

There was no announcement of missile danger or air alert in Belgorod before the explosion, which confirms the version of the fall of the Russian aerial bomb. Residents near the explosion site heard the sound of a plane flying towards the border. A large crater formed at the site where the bomb fell, near an electrical substation, where emergency services are operating.

Official response

The governor of Belgorod confirmed the power outage and noted that the cause of the emergency was the 'arrival of an unidentified shell'. He also reported that one person was injured by the shockwave.

'There are still problems with electricity supply in parts of Belgorod and the Belgorod region,' the head of the region wrote on his Telegram channel.

Additionally, a truck was damaged as a result of the explosion, and windows were shattered in two private houses. According to local publications, there are even power outages in the city center, where traffic lights were partially turned off.
