Russian drones attacked ports and railways: foreign vessels and elevators damaged.
According to ТСН: On the night of December 26, Russian drones attacked the ports in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, causing damage to foreign vessels, elevators, and storage facilities of civil enterprises. The railway station 'Kovel' in Volyn was also hit.
Strike on ports and infrastructure
Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba reported continuous attacks on the ports of Odesa. The drone strikes damaged elevators, storage facilities of civil enterprises, a barge, and vessels flying the flags of Slovakia and the Republic of Palau.
Rescuers are extinguishing fires at the attack sites, while port workers are inspecting the damages. There are partial outages in electricity supply, but repair crews are actively working on recovery.
Damaged facilities in Mykolaiv region and Volyn
The terminal in the Mykolaiv region was also under Russian attack, where a vessel flying the flag of Liberia was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but recovery work is underway.
As a result of the drone attack, damage was recorded on the Lviv railway, particularly at the 'Kovel' station, where a locomotive and a cargo car were affected. The shock wave shattered windows in the locomotive depot, and 'Ukrzaliznytsia' employees are eliminating the aftermath.
Ukraine's logistics system continues to operate
Despite Russian attacks, Ukraine's logistics system continues to function. Earlier, it was reported about a Russian UAV attack on an infrastructure facility in Odesa, which caused a fire. All services are actively working to eliminate the consequences and restore electricity supply. Additional bus routes have been launched for citizens, and ecologists are checking the condition of sea water due to the risk of coastal contamination.
This situation highlights the extreme tension in the region, which has been ongoing for a long time. Attacks on Ukraine's critically important infrastructure confirm that safety in maritime and railway transport routes remains a priority for the state.
