Odesa Struck by Russian Drones Overnight, Killing Woman and Damaging Homes.
Drone Strike Targets Odesa
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces launched a drone assault on Odesa overnight, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old woman. The attack struck a city district, causing significant destruction. Rescuers, as reported by Serhiy Lysak, recovered the woman's body from the rubble of a destroyed private house. This attack is part of a wider pattern of Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian cities far from the front lines.
Extensive Damage Reported
The strike damaged the roof of a single-story residential building, with the blast wave also shattering windows in neighboring homes. In a separate incident during the same night, Russian drones hit apartments in multi-story buildings in Odesa and damaged fertilizer warehouses in the port area. The attacks ignited fires in passenger cars and freight rail cars, which emergency services subsequently extinguished.
“The drone impact damaged the roof of a single-story residential building,” stated Oleh Kiper.
This assault underscores the intensifying conflict and the ongoing danger to civilians in Ukraine. It demonstrates Russia's continued aggression against civilian infrastructure, highlighting the severe situation in the region. The shelling of cities and towns endangers lives and public safety, a crisis demanding urgent international attention and resolution.
