Intelligence has set a record by destroying two Russian helicopters in the Black Sea.
An operation took place in the Black Sea during which Ukrainian missile drones Magura V5 destroyed two Russian Mi-8 helicopters. This information was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to available data, on December 31, 2024, special forces from Group 13 of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, operating in Crimea, destroyed two Russian Mi-8 helicopters using the Magura V5 maritime drones.
Preliminary information indicates that the helicopter crews were also eliminated.
«Another Russian helicopter received gunfire and managed to land,» the intelligence reported.
Information about the destruction of two Russian Mi-8 helicopters was also reported by Russian propagandists. It was noted that Ukrainian forces destroyed the helicopters along with their crews over the Black Sea on December 31. This was a very painful loss for Russia, which had not suffered similar losses since 2022.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that the destruction of the Mi-8 helicopter using a maritime drone is a historic achievement. He noted that the Magura V5 drones have attacked enemy air forces several times, but Russian equipment still managed to reach the shoreline.
