Lviv Mayor Questions Defense Effectiveness After Drone Strike Injures 13.
Mayor Andriy Sadovyi Responds to Russian Attack on Lviv
According to Novyny.live: On March 24, a Russian drone assault struck Lviv, hitting both a residential building in the city center and an apartment block on Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi later raised concerns about the adequacy of air defense and emergency response efforts during the incident.
At least 13 people have been confirmed injured so far, with cleanup and recovery operations still underway. Sadovyi emphasized the urgent need to ensure residents' safety:
“My priority right now is to save people, keep them safe, secure overnight shelter, and make sure hospitals provide the necessary care. We will get this done.” — Andriy Sadovyi
The mayor stressed the importance of delivering immediate aid to the wounded and restoring normal life in Lviv. Authorities say the situation remains under control, with all available resources being deployed to protect the population.
This attack is part of Russia's broader ongoing aggression against Ukraine since the war began. Local officials have responded swiftly to mitigate the damage, but the incident underscores the urgent need for stronger air defense systems and security measures in regions vulnerable to enemy strikes.
