New attack by the Russian Federation: Ukraine introduces 3-4 stages of power outages.

According to ТСН: After a new massive attack by Russia, most regions of Ukraine are transitioning to 3–4 stages of power outages. There may be a shortage of electricity for up to 16 hours a day.

Assessments by energy experts

Energy expert Hennadiy Ryabtsev noted that in the near future, the country will implement 3–4 stages of outages, with further easing as damaged energy facilities are restored.

Ryabtsev emphasized that the predicted drop in temperature in the coming days will not significantly affect the electricity supply limitation schedules.

"Perhaps they will add half an hour to the stages of outages," Ryabtsev said.

In his opinion, a sharp increase in electricity consumption is only observed when the temperature drops to -10…-15 degrees.

Attacks on energy infrastructure

The expert noted that during the recent attacks, Russian troops were deliberately targeting key energy infrastructure facilities, including substations and thermal power plants.

"The same targets again: substations that are responsible for extracting power from nuclear power plants, thermal power plants. If we look at the messages from monitoring channels about where things are heading, we can see names of very familiar settlements: Dobrotvir, Burshtyn. If things are heading there, then it is probably related to the respective thermal power plants. If it is said that Rivne and Khmelnytsky regions are almost out of power, it means that the substations, which are responsible for extracting power from the respective nuclear power plants, are damaged," Ryabtsev noted.

Consequences of the attacks

Ryabtsev stressed that after Russia's attacks, it was necessary to reduce the capacity of the atomic power units by order of "Ukrenergo".

"Therefore, the duration of outages will increase, especially in Western Ukraine," he emphasized.

Despite this situation, Ryabtsev noted that emergency outages had been implemented in many regions, but reassured that "there is no blackout anywhere."

The expert explained that the outages were preventive: "This was done. And it allowed to reduce the damage caused.".

According to him, after the restoration works, the outage schedules will return to their usual routines.

He paid special attention to the western regions where restrictions on electricity supply will also be implemented.

"There were no queues before, but now, there may be a return of outage schedules in Western Ukraine for a week," Ryabtsev concluded.

Massive attacks on the energy system

Let us remind you that Russia conducted a massive attack on Ukraine's energy system, using over 600 drones and dozens of missiles. The western regions were mainly affected, and emergency electricity outage schedules were implemented across the country. All relevant services are currently coordinating their work to address the consequences and quickly stabilize the energy system.

Experts note that the continuation of attacks on energy infrastructure may negatively impact Ukraine's energy stability, especially in the context of the winter period. It is important that all services work harmoniously to minimize consequences and ensure reliable electricity supply for the population.
