Police Dismiss Freezing Death Theory in Kyiv Pensioner's Case.
A Tragedy in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: Police in Kyiv have officially ruled out freezing as the cause of death for an elderly woman, countering earlier media reports. The body of Yevheniia Mykhailivna Bezfamilna, born in 1937, was discovered, with authorities confirming she died from heart failure.
Her body was found on Pochayininska Street on January 13. According to the forensic medical examination, the cause of death was heart failure resulting from chronic ischemic heart disease. The open window in her room, a detail noted by investigators, appears to have fueled initial speculation about possible hypothermia.
Law enforcement officials have explicitly stated that the woman did not freeze to death due to a burst pipe or the cold outdoor temperatures. Representatives of the capital's authorities emphasized that the expert findings clearly point to a pre-existing medical condition, not exposure to the cold.
Heating Supply Issues
While the Troieshchyna district, where the tragedy occurred, is indeed experiencing significant issues with its heating supply, this was not a factor in the woman's death. This incident highlights the critical need for accurate reporting on medical matters, as rumors can easily lead to public misunderstanding and undue alarm. The ongoing heating problems in Troieshchyna remain a serious concern for residents, underscoring the need for continued attention from local authorities to prevent potential future crises.
