Court in the Case of the Murder of Parubiy: The Suspect Confessed Connections to the Russian Federation.
According to ТСН: In Lviv, the court extended the pre-trial detention of Andriy Stselnikow, the suspect in the murder case of MP Andriy Parubiy. The accused remains in custody.
The court has set the new deadline for Stselnikow's pre-trial detention for another 60 days until February 15.
Confession of the Suspect
At the hearing, the suspect told journalists that he received the weapon from a 'hideout' whose location was shown to him by other individuals. Stselnikow does not know who handed him this weapon.
He also emphasized that the murder of Parubiy was an act of revenge 'for everything', particularly due to the loss of his son, who served in the 93rd Brigade and is missing in Bakhmut.
New Evidence in the Case
The investigations in the Parubiy murder case have yielded significant evidence: Law enforcement found a pistol in the hideout that was used to shoot the politician on August 30. In addition to the charges of murder and illegal handling of weapons, Stselnikow has also been charged with high treason and glorification of Russian aggression. It has been established that the suspect prepared for the crime, received instructions and weapons from curators in Russia, and also passed intelligence information about the movements of the Ukrainian armed forces to enemy intelligence agencies.
This case has sparked significant public interest and remains in the spotlight. By keeping Stselnikow in custody, the court aims to protect the investigations and prevent any influence on the proceedings. Further hearings could provide important insights into the motivations and circumstances of the crime and alter the picture of the investigations.
