It became known how many Americans are waiting for the end of the war in Ukraine.
Half of the residents of the United States want the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible, even if it means that Ukraine does not regain all its territory (50%). This option is particularly supported by conservative citizens of the United States (74%).
30% of respondents who are supporters of the Democrats also want a quick end to the war. Among independent voters, this figure is 47%.
48% of respondents support the continuation of the war, of which 69% are Democrats, 25% are Republicans, and 50% are independent voters.
Also, 67% of Republicans believe that the United States is spending too many resources to support Ukraine. In August, 43% of Republican party supporters expressed this opinion. The same opinion is shared by 11% of Democrats and 35% of independent voters.
“Americans are also divided on whether the U.S. is doing enough to help Ukraine. Currently, more Americans believe that the United States is taking the right amount of action to assist Ukraine, while fewer citizens believe that not enough is being done,” the study says.
Furthermore, 25% of Americans are confident that a civil war will begin in the U.S. after the presidential elections. Similar concerns are shared by 27% of adult Americans, including 30% of women and 24% of men.
Also, 12% of respondents said they personally know someone who could take up arms if they believed that Donald Trump was cheated during the elections. Specifically, 5% claim to know someone who could do the same if they believed that Kamala Harris cheated her opponent during the elections.
It was previously known that 41% of Americans believe that the U.S. is doing too much to support Ukraine. This figure has risen significantly since June of this year.
